Ekwa Msangi's award-winning and critically acclaimed feature film Farewell Amor premiered in competition at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival, garnering 100% on Rottentomatoes, and was bought for distribution by IFC Films.

Showing a very different perspective of an immigrant life and love story, Farewell Amor Is a sensitive and thought-provoking drama that offers a glimpse into the experiences of New York’s African immigrant population.

Esther and Sylvia arrive in New York from Angola to live with Walter, who left his war-torn homeland 17 years ago. Sharing a tiny apartment in Brooklyn, they try to rebuild their lives together and overcome the personal and political differences that developed in their years apart.
