Episode 7
TBB Talks to ... Bethany Antonia
TBB Talks to Bethany Antonia, who plays 'Chelsea' in new indie film 'Pin Cushion'. Her character serves as the moral compass in this touching tale about bullying, fitting in, disability and being confident in who you are.
Starring another up and coming actress, British-American Lily Newmark as lead character 'Iona', Pin Cushion tells the tale of the very close and, a bit odd relationship between tween Iona and her mother 'Lyn' (Joanna Scanlon). Affectionately nicknaming themselves, Dafty One and Dafty Two the pair are excited for their new life in a new town.
Determined to make a success of things after a tricky start, Iona becomes 'best friends' with Keely (Sacha Cordy-Nice), Stacey (Saskia Paige Martin) and Chelsea (Bethany Antonia). Used to being Iona's bestie herself, Lyn feels left out. So Lyn attempts to befriend her new neighbour.
As much as Lyn and Iona pretend to each other that things are going great, things aren't going great for either of them. Iona struggles with the girls, who act more like frenemies than friends, and Lyn struggles to assert herself. Both Mother and Daughter retreat into fantasy and lies.
Bethany Antonia, as Chelsea serves as the moral compass in this touch tale about bullying, fitting in, disability and being confident in who you are.
